Pat Mair, Practice Manager

I started working in Bishopbriggs Vets in August 2002 as a receptionist before we were computerised. I had worked for many years in Springburn Health Centre as a GP receptionist, so often I would see some “kent” faces but with their pets in tow! As I am now Practice Manager, I spend most of my time in the office, so don’t come in contact with our clients as often as before, but I am still one of the voices on the telephone.

Coming from a farming background and also being the mother of a “horsey” daughter, I have a knowledge of the problems both our farmers and equine clients can experience, so hopefully this stands in good stead when it comes to helping the girls prioritise calls and direct them to which vet is nearest.

At the moment, I only have 1 (very boisterous) pet, a pointer cross, who keeps me on my toes, as can be confirmed by anyone seeing me being dragged around the Baldernock area!!!!

Susan Blair, Receptionist

I joined the practice as a receptionist 8 years ago. I live locally (handy for travel to and from work) and am married with 3 children. Being an animal lover and also enjoying chatting to clients I have found this to be the ideal job. I have 2 cats and 2 goldfish (who provide hours of entertainment for the cats). In my spare time I like reading and keeping fit – although not at the same time!

Liz Wilson, Receptionist

I have been working at Bishopbriggs Vet Centre for nearly four years. I am the proud owner of two cocker spaniels called Pepsi and Tango. Pepsi is of course black whilst Tango is orange. They are more responsive than my children – when I come home from work they are at least pleased to see me! We also have a rabbit called Crunchie, whom we rescued after one of the practice partners found him wandering in the wild. He has now become a member of our family albeit he is the only vegetarian! You may notice a pattern here in that our pets are named after soft drinks and sweets. If we get another dog, my husband wants a Dalmatian and to call it Stripe. Either that or get a red setter and call it Merlot!
